CyberCat Mask

I 3D printed this mask for cosplay.

I was looking around for Cyberpunk-styled masks, and came across the designer Ruslan Asanov, who’s got some really excellent STL sets for sale.

I purchased his CyberCat STL V1 set, and proceeded to get started printing. This took 4 days, and had to be printed in two parts. Here’s the first assembly, with some sandable filler to halp fix any imperfections.

After some filler primer, the mask is looking pretty smooth. There’s a few more rounds of sanding and priming to go, but it was looking really good at this point.

So the first color scheme I went with was this blue, black and gold. One of the things with the v1 of this mask, is it had no structure inside for the eyes.

And I had plans for the eyes! These are Sparkfun LuMini 1" rings. Super tiny, bright, addressable LEDs. I hooked these up to a Teensy board, along with a microphone mounted in the chin of the mask. Had to construct some parts to hold things in place, but it worked out well!

Now that I had the eyes installed, along with a diffuser lens, I thought I’d do a repaint, as I wasn’t happy with the blue shade anymore.

So here’s the final colorscheme. Gray / Black / Red. It matched the Enforcer jacket colors better this way.
